i get the beat
when i kick my trash in the street
when there's broken glass at the beach
i get the beat
when the things i say stain my teeth
but, me, i don't try to quit or clean em
that's when i feel it
that's when i feel it
that's when i feel it
that's when i start to slump
when i take my junk to the dump
the man in the machine crumples it up
i start to slump
when i 'm sellin all the dirty drunks
drinkin to remember what they come from
that's when i feel it
that's when i feel it
that's when i feel it
that's when i feel it
the dregs and the drugs are stinkin up the subway system
they're spittin on the sidewalk breathin up my oxygen
there's too many fathers and mothers makin brothers and sisters
the problem with all the people is that people gotta eat well i won't miss them
if i left it all behind
my brain bends when i see the women and the men
when i see em touch each other's skin
my brain bends when the lonely spell never ends
makes me remember what my momma said
and she said
"it's fast and it's slow and it's hard to know if you're movin
everyone'll tell you that they know what you oughta be doin
so don't love nothin that you can't deal with losin"
well i did my best but momma i'm only human
after all.

Don't be fooled by the iridescent sheen of this glitchy electro-pop artist from London; her music has a tender heart. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 26, 2021

What a great album. It took me a while to really get the whole album but I can confidently say it's one of her best. The shorter songs are certainly a different feel, but I still like it. I could pick like five different songs as my favorite and all of them would feel right lol praisedrays
